Pea Ridge, Arkansas

If you are in Branson, head for Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Then from Eureka Springs head south on U.S. 62 to Pea Ridge. You will go right past the Pea Ridge National Military Park.

The Battle of Pea Ridge was fought in Pea Ridge, Arkansas in March 1862 and saved Missouri for the Union.

First drop by the Visitors Center, talk to the Rangers, see the Video, buy the books and then take the 7 Mile circuit around the battlefield. Try to take this little trip on a pretty day.

A visit to the Military Park can be a fun outting. You can stop in Eureka Springs for a lunch and then get to Pea Ridge and return in a day.

Above are some pictures. Call ahead and the rangers might set out some deer on the drive for your viewing pleasure.
