Dogwood Canyon

This past weekend we had some friends visit from Texas. So we decided to show Dr. G and his lovely wife Sonja around. First we went to Branson Landing to outfit ourselves at Bass Pro with some food from Dave's to keep us going. Then we took some pictures at Branson Bridge and saw a few old cars in town for the race.

The next morning after breakfast at Clockers we headed out to Dogwood Canyon, also owned by Bass Pro for a few pictures. At the canyon we took a tram up to the North Country and met up with Bison, longhorns and a few elk.

Now before we were born and the angels were handing out gifts, HarleyDad had to leave the line to head for the men's room. And while he was gone the angels handed out whatever makes you lovable to animals. Well Brokerbelle got her share of lovableness to God's good creation and HarleyDad's share as well, him being out of line and all.

Since that time all large and small animals love Brokerbelle and have nothing to do with HarleyDad.

Tom, our cat, loves Brokerbelle and tolerates HD only when Broker and Shan Tora are out of town. Big Dogs love Broker and Shan Tora. Horses love Broker and Shan Tora. All the large animals simply look at HD with a questioning stare and silently ask why HD left the line at that particular moment.

Well, Elk love Broker too. So after the tram goes up the hill and stops, we are told not to mess with the elk, not to feed them, they have bad breath, bad teeth, smell, etc., etc. But the elk have no way to hear the tour guide so the largest of the elk looks over the tram and its riders and decides that there one person it must absolutely and positively get to know better. Yes, you guessed it, it is Brokerbelle.

So the elk pushes aside the others and heads for Brokerbelle and as soon as it gets to the front it is laying its head on Brokerbelle and acting like a lap dog. The tour leader has no idea of what to do so he does nothing being a naturalist and everything. Brokerbelle decides the elk is like a big horse and pats it and scratches it behind the ears. And the elk is loving it.

And thus there is a lovefest going on between elk and mankind with Brokerbelle being in the center of it all as usual.

It is just another day in the Branson area with Brokerbelle making a hit with God's creating and with HarleyDad wondering why he ever got outta that line.
