Head on Down to the Farm House

Yeah, it is good eating!

And they don't pay me
for saying so.

It's not necessary for them to pay you in order that you say it's good food: Farmhouse has boasted some of the best breakfast to be found in the Tri-Lakes Area for as many years as I can remember, despite numerous owner changeovers and a couple of devastating fires. Had my first plate of scrambled eggs there in 1958--just before shopping at the local "Piggly Wiggly" grocery store once located just a half-mile south of Farmhouse on Business Hwy. 65, or back when Branson's western boundary extended no farther than the crest of the hill where the McDonald's Restaurant now sits, on Hwy. 76.

I pity the people who've of late moved to Branson in hope that they'll find genuine down-home atmosphere. Alas the real Branson died just after time-share arrived in 1981. If you can't recall the Branson of 1955-1979, then ya' jis' cain't remember the really good ole days....

But what the heck? It still beats Springfield, Kansas City, St. Louis et al. But for how much longer?

Dear Anonymous:

Thanks for your comment. Just to clarify, this blogger has never been paid for recommending or not recommending any thing including restaurants.

I do also remember the good ole days to which you refer. Things were pretty good back then. However, I am glad that since then they have put in side roads to Highway 76. Thank you very much for reading and commenting.
