Belle Leaves 2006

Copyright E. Jett 2007

Like the Branson Belle we leave 2006. It is my hope that as we sail into the uncharted waters of 2007 we will do so with God as our Chief and Co-Pilot. That we will find new adventures and draw closer to Him and His word. I pray that our past sins will be covered and that together we will find new and exciting vistas.

It is New Year's in Branson. Last night the Branson Belle went on its New Year Cruise. One of the shots of the Belle show it at dusk.

Welcome to 2007 in Branson and Table Rock Lake.

Sunset in Ozarklandia

Sunset in Ozarklandia. When cars are zooming home after work, God uses the sky as his easel and begins to paint. The painting is for all but only those who have eyes to see it, see it. But it is nevertheless there for all to see. Posted by Picasa

His Eye is Upon the Sparrow

Scripture says that God knows the number of hairs on our head. He knows even when the sparrow falls. In other words, God is concerned even about small things. I find this is of much comfort and illustrates the love of God.

There is an old song entitled: "His Eye is Upon the Sparrow." The song lyrics say: "His Eye is Upon the Sparrow, so I know He is watching me."

The picture to the left is of a small bird. He did not know that I was watching or photographing him; while God was watching both of us.

La Hacienda

La Hacienda
3515 W. 76 Country Boulevard
Branson, Mo. 65616

Good Mexican food. I have held off blogging on this restaurant for quite some time. Why? Because you know how it is when a fisherman has a special fishin' hole. Sometimes he does not share it even with his best buds.

Well, that is how it is with La Hacienda. It is located right across from White Water and right where you turn off from 76 to go to the red roof mall.

Sure, it looks like a dive from the outside. Its amenities on the inside are Spartan to say the least. But you know, that is how it is many times with the best Mexican food.

Do they have the best cheese enchiladas in the world. No, unfortunately not, and great cheese enchiladas are often the sine qua non of a great Mexican food place. So why do I love it?

I will tell you why. Great salsa. Their salsa is to die for. And then it gets better. This place may have the best guacamole in the whole world. Do I mean the whole world? Well I have eaten it all over the world. I have had it in Seville and Barcelona. I have had it in Laredo, and Mexico City. I am telling you that I think it is the best. They make it at the table in the lava pig. Pictures are above. And when Rosalita makes the guacamole the angels sing. Yum.

But that is not all. Margaritas so big that you can swim in them. They aren't chinchy with the alcohol. Frozen margaritas are the best with salt around the rim.

Have guacamole made at the table, drink your margarita and suddenly all is right with the world.

This place is great.

So now you know about the fishin' hole and waterin' hole. See you there.
