Baldknobbers Jamboree Show
The Baldknobbers is the oldest show in Branson begun by the Mabe brothers in 1959. Numerous relatives of the original Mabes are still in the show.
The Baldknobbers were a vigilante group in the Branson area in the 1880s and wore sack over their heads (hopefully with the eyes cut out).
The Baldknobbershow centers about country and western music and comedy. It is located on Highway 76 (the main drag) and is located on the otherside of the street from the Grand Palace.
The comedy is clean and has the country slapstick comedy of Stub Meadows, Hargis Marcel, and Droopy Drawers (Tim Mabe).
The singing is great and the lead singers and band are superb. There is a portion of the show that is patriotic ("Stand up if you were in this branch of the service). Also there is some gospel music at the end which is even as good or better than the country music.
My grandson's school choir was doing the pre-show. I planned on staying a few minutes into the show, then I planned on leaving at half-time (intermission in showbusiness), next I planned on leaving just before it was over. Well it never happened. I watched it to the bitter end.
It was enjoyable (to my great surprise) and I would not hesitate recommending it to others.
Its webpage is www.baldknobbers.com.

Dick Clark's Grill-Bandstand

Do you remember American Bandstand? We do. You can experience it again at Dick Clark's Grill in Branson.
Be careful or you may be shedding your shoes and going to the hop.
Who knows you could be doing the bop with the Big Bopper or the Twist with Chubby Checker while waiting for your food.

The sun is coming up. Just as the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, eclipsed the work of John the Baptist -- so does the work of the sun eclipse the lesser light of the gentle moon. Here is the moon in the early morning just before it disappears due to the rising of the sun.
